2020 Build
2020 first build project
build project 1
We started in January with flooring being added to increase our storage space for our lights.
Build project 2
This also started in January. new enclosures for 2 new Falcon controllers
Build Project 3
this project started in February and it was to build temp sensors that we can connect to home assistant and 3D print cases to protect them in enclosures
Build Project 4
In February I started a new enclosure for some expansion boards
Build Project 5
This site and this was started in March
Build project 6
March: started drilling conduit for new frames around the front door and windows to allow the pixels to be more directional.
When doing this sort of thing the best thing you can do is make a jig. The reason you do this is that you are doing a lot of drilling and you want your spacings to be the same.
my jig for the straight section is simple, 3 bits of timber and a bolt. the middle timber is the thickness of the conduit. in this case 25mm. (20mm does not leave enough on the edges for strength)
The Jig for the corners is also simple. As you can see in the picture. you are basically just wedging the corner of the jig. so make it snug. then I cut some 3mm mdf to go over the top to make it nice and safe and something to allow downward pressure on conduit while you drill so it does not pop up. I also did a 45 degree cut in it so when I first did the 12mm hole I knew I had it in the middle of the conduit corner.
It is also great when the kids give me a hand as that is what we all do this hobby for that is for sure
Build project 7
May: My New North and South poles. these are a new upgrade from my older ones as the others were just to big to store in the off season.
These are very easy to make. it us just 100mm PVC piper with some modified Garden lights that are 200mm wide. i just gutted the insides of them and glued a 100mm cap to the base with 9 holes for 9 RGB pixels. i also just sprayed the piping with cherry red paint to give them the candy cane look.
Project 8
May: this year i wanted to update the roof line and the window frames to be more directional with the lighting.

What I did here is what I have done above in project 6. I Drilled 12mm holes every 50mm through the conduit and also the corner pieces so now all the lights face the same way and the spacing looks much better.
Project 9
Stay tuned for what is coming. the new Gutter matrix all the way across the front of the house. 6 Rows of pixels totalling about 1700 pixels. so over 5,000 channels
